Thousands of Connecticut families expecting new summer food benefits this week will have to wait until early August, the state announced.
The summer food benefits program, launched this year, aims to help families afford groceries when children are out of school.
The Community Renewal Team, which provides the meals, expects to distribute around 35,000 meals throughout the summer.
Officials have not provided a specific date for when the benefits will be deposited.
