Darien police say a Stamford school aide has been arrested and is accused of assaulting a 9-year-old boy with autism.
They say it happened in April on a bus transporting students from a private special education school in Stamford to Trumbull.
Officers say Juan Carlos Rodriguez was caught on a camera biting the child during the bus ride, who cried out in pain. The victim’s mother noticed the bite marks on his back and reported the incident to police.
They say Rodriguez is also accused of several more disturbing incidents of abusing the child. He's since been fired from his job.
He turned himself in to Darien police on an arrest warrant from Stamford Superior Court and was released on a $50,000 bond.
He is set to appear in Stamford Superior Court on July 5.
